Really, who spends $90 on a coat for 14 month old, especially when we live in the South and have very few really cold days? But this is SUPER, SUPER cute and if we ever have baby girl #2, it will still be in great shape. I can see Little B giving this to her daughter to wear. Yes, I am totally justifying my impulse buying. Damn you Zulily!

Confession #6 - I Play Dirty
My daughter is only 14 months and as much as she would like to, we do not let her eat candy unless its an extra special occasion. So, needless to day, after trick-or-treating there was some debate as to what to do with her candy or more realistically, who would get what! I play dirty when it comes to chocolate. I know how much my husband HATES dog hair. So, I grabbed a clump of hair from the family lab and sprinkled it in the plastic pumpkin with the candy. Even though its in wrappers, he now won't touch it and I get it all to myself. Ahhh, sweet victory!

Confession #5 - I Bake On Friday Nights
In high school (many moons ago) Friday nights meant football games and hanging out at TJ's afterwards. In college, Friday nights were working the late shift waiting tables and then counting our tips to see how many drinks we could buy later that evening. Now as a mommy, Friday nights mean tomorrow I get to sleep in 30 extra minutes (1 hour if I don't want to shower) and that I get my kitchen all to myself to bake. Sometimes baking is stressful, especially when there is a deadline to meet but on Friday nights when my daughter is sleeping and husband is traveling, baking is my stress reliever. Not to mention, I get the reap the rewards of my efforts all by myself...

Confession #4 Age Validation
I am not growing old gracefully! However, when I see "cashier has bypassed age validation" on my grocery receipt, it makes me wonder how old does that little 16 year old really think I am....

Confession #3 I Am My Mother
This one hurts to write but yes, I did inherit some traits from my mother. One of those traits is throwing away magazines! Not like a Hoarders type issue but definitely need a life coach to give me a push every now and then. Mostly I cannot part with my Bon Appetit, Cooking Light and Southern Living magazines as I never know when I'll need that tip or trick or recipe. We'll disregard the fact that you can find anything on the internet in 0.2 seconds. Makes me wonder what traits my daughter will inherit from me...

Confession #2 Ironing
Its much easier to rewash the wrinkled clothes that having been sitting in your dryer for several days than to iron them! Sure, you're using more resources (water, electricity, gas, etc) but the first time you burn your favorite shirt because you were daydreaming about having a maid to do this for you, it will be sooo worth it.
